MLH FIS ch. 4

A small airship landed on a hill side overlooking the equestrian countryside. The doors opened and out stepped the notorious Dr. Eggman. He surveyed the landscape and smiled evilly. "Oh yes. This place will do just fine." he sneered. "With a whole land populated only by stupid horses, I will have no problem creating a foothold for the Eggman Empire. But still, I will need a strong power source for my machinery. What shall I use?" the doctor said stroking his mustache. "I can help with that." a slithering, feminine voice spoke. Eggman looked around himself. "Eh? Who said that?" A black mist formed in front of him. It formed into a big black alicorn with dark blue armor and a misty night sky mane and tail. Eggman eyed the mare but became serious again. "Yes, that's a nice trick horse, but I'm very busy and can't be bothered."  He turned to get back to his airship, but the mare materialized in front of him, startling him. "Did you not hear me?" she spat. "I too want domination over these pathetic ponies. You can use my powers of darkness to power you contraptions, and this kingdom will be ours." Eggman pondered this for a moment. "Interesting. Who are you exactly?" The mare smiled. "I am Nightmare Moon, but you can call me "friend"." Eggman smiled. "Good. Very Good. With your power and my genius, nothing will stand in our way!" Nightmare grinned devilishly. "Indeed, nothing!" The evil duo laughed menacingly as their plan came together.

The ponies' carriage arrived back in Ponyville later that day. Twilight thanked the pullers and they flew away for other duties. Spike ran out of the library. "Hey, you guys back already?" he asked. "Yeah, all she really did was explain to Sonic what's happening and about Nightmare Moon. Luna even cried." Twilight answered. "Wow, she really cryed?" the little dragon asked. "Of coarse she did Spike. I mean, how would you feel if you were traped in the moon for 1000 years?" Twilight retorted. Spike gave a little shiver. "You know, when you put like that, that's pretty scary."

Sonic walked around in circles. He had not felt this bored in a long time. He finally threw up his hands and shouted "Ugh, is there anything to do around here?!" Rarity approached him with an idea twinkling in her eyes. "Well now dear, we could go to my boutique and you could try on some customary suits. There are some I think you would look marvelous in." Sonic pondered this for a moment, but put his hand up. "Sorry Rarity, but trying on clothes isn't my thing. It's kind of pointless really." Rarity was shocked by this. "What?! How could you say such a thing? Fashion is everything when you look at it." Sonic shrugged his shoulders. "Sorry, but I just don't see it that way."

"SONIIIC!" a voice called out from in the sky. Sonic flinched and began to sweat. He know that voice all to well. It was Amy. "Aw crud!" he whimpered. "Anyone but her!" The Tornado flew overhead, circled around and touched down along an open strip of ground. Tails cut the engine off and got out. Amy got out as well and ran toward Sonic. "Here it goes…" Sonic slurred. Amy hugged him before giving him a little whap on the shoulder. "Here you are Sonic. Why did you run off like that?" Sonic tried to break free. "Amy, you know I was playing around." "Well your "playing around" almost gave me heart failure. Don't do that again."

Tails came back after looking around. "Um, Sonic? I don't see anyone here but ponies here. Why are you hanging around here?" "Because they need me." Sonic said. "For what?" asked Tails. The hedgehog facepalmed. "I'm not that good with explaining stuff. Ok, 2 princesses rule this land and they control the sun and the moon, but the moon princess has an evil version of herself running loose causing havoc with an army of darkness. Now they need me to defeat her. Did you get all that?" Sonic said. Tails blinked twice before he answered. "Uh, I think so." he said dully.

"Everypony run! Nightmare imps!" a random pony screamed followed by whole crowds of ponies screaming and running for their lives in fear. Sonic, Tails, and Amy were concerned as they watched everypony race by. Twilight galloped out of the crowd and came to them. "Hey Twilight, what's going on?" Sonic asked. Twilight was panicking as well. "Sonic, we have to get out of here. The nightmare imp soliders that Princess Celestia told you about are coming." Sonic brushed her off. "Not a chance. I don't back down to anyone who threatens people." and he ran off through the crown and ran along the buildings. Twilight couldn't believe it. "Are you crazy?! Get back here!" she shouted before chasing after him. Tails and Amy followed behind.

Sonic found what everypony was running away from, a troop of black imp-like creatures with glowing blue eyes were destroying an apple cart. Applejack had manged to get away, but was horrified at the damage they caused. Sonic called to them. "Hey, you freaks want a clobbering?" The imps turned around and growled. Applejack stared as she lay. "Did you fall off the hay barrel?! RUN!!" she yelled. Sonic ignored her and ran toward the imps, jumped into the air and did a series of homing attacks, taking them out.

Applejack and Twilight, who had just caught up, were amazed by what Sonic just did. Amy came up smiling. "You've obviously never seen Sonic fight before. Now it's my turn." she said as she drew out her Piko-Piko hammer and charged at reinforcements. She bashed 2 of them out of way, but they dogpiled on her. Sonic had his hands busy to notice. She yelped as she thought this was the end, but a strange bolt of yellow energy scattered them off her. Then they were taken out by a black blur. The blur landed after attacking, It was Shadow.

After Sonic had finished off the rest of the troops, he went over to see the black hedgehog. "Hey Shadow, what are you doing here?" Shadow crossed his arms as usual. "I was just out looking for something of interest, but as usual, I found nothing." "Well you did just save Amy. You could stay here for a bit too. I could introduce you." said Sonic. Shadow started to walk away. "Don't bother." he said. "This place is too girly for me anyway." He turned to give Sonic a cold shoulder. "And just because I saved the girl for you doesn't change a thing. I suggest you watch your backs." he snarled and skated off into the fields.

High above were Shadow left, the bad attituded griffon, Gilda watched as he skated off toward the desert. "Hmm, interesting." she smiled to herself and took off after the black hedgehog.
